Potential of abundant, environmentally harmless energy technology , which already exists My strategy for manifesting that energy event for humanity’s and the planet’s benefit. I w as born in In that same year, I had my cultural and mystical awakenings. During my second year of college, I had my first existential crisis and a paranormal event changed my studies from science to business. I s till held my energy dreams, however, and in , eight years after that first paranormal event, I had a second one that suddenly caused me to move up the coast from Los Angeles to Seattle, where I landed in the middle of what is arguably the greatest attempt yet made to bring alternative energy to the American marketplace. That effort was killed by the local electric industry , which saw our technology as a threat to its revenues and profits, and my wild ride began. The owner of the Seattle business left the state to rebuild his effort. I followed him to Boston and soon became his partner. M y partner’s experiences in Seattle radicalized him.

Beer, alcoholic beverage produced by extracting raw materials with water , boiling usually with hops , and fermenting. In some countries, beer is defined by law—as in Germany , where the standard ingredients, besides water, are malt kiln-dried germinated barley , hops , and yeast. Glasses of beer in a bar in Brussels.
Reliefs on Egyptian tombs dating from bce show that barley or partly germinated barley was crushed, mixed with water, and dried into cakes. When broken up and mixed with water, the cakes gave an extract that was fermented by microorganisms accumulated on the surfaces of fermenting vessels. Beer brewer, painted limestone, from the excavations of Dara, Egypt, c. The Roman historians Pliny in the 1st century bce and Tacitus in the 1st century ce reported that Saxons , Celts , and Nordic and Germanic tribes drank ale.
In fact, many of the English terms used in brewing malt, mash, wort, ale are Anglo-Saxon in origin. During the Middle Ages the monastic orders preserved brewing as a craft. Hops were in use in Germany in the 11th century, and in the 15th century they were introduced into Britain from Holland.
One of the issues that I try to address in the classroom is to have each student talking with the other students about their academic work. If you have students in groups, some will dominate and some will play wall flower. With speed learning, students are challenged to have several one on one conversations with the other students. I communicate a defined outcome as well as a time limit to help focus the discussions. Steps for using the method in class:
Of course there’s also a lot of value in students creating their own revision cards. You could make each student a specialist for a particular topic – they spend half a lesson making quiz cards for their allocated topic, then in the second half of the lesson students rotate around the room speed-dating .
I am choosing to do it this way because it will tell me whether or not my students are fully aware of the revisions they have made. Hopefully we can celebrate. Peer Review Jury Decision on Peer Review During this second application part of the lesson, I am asking my students speed date a classmate’s essay using a peer review checklist. I am asking my students to do this because they will have just made significant revisions to word choices and sentence structure in addition to the revisions they will have made during the writing process , and this is a change to vet the revisions with their peers before making any final revisions of their own.
This review is extensive and focuses on several writing skills that we have learned CCSS. For example, they will check an essay to see if there is textual evidence or quotes CCSS. The peer review checklist even requires students to go a bit further and make sure that each quote is explained. This is important because I have been talking to my students about NOT ending or beginning paragraphs with quotes. Instead, they need to use the evidence to support what they are saying and explain why those quotes matter.
If students are proficient at finding strengths and weaknesses in their peers’ essays, it is more likely that they will be able to produce a quality essay of their own. Because this is an extensive review, I am choosing to do it in stages and with multiple group members. Each member of the group will be looking for specific elements on the checklist, so they will become an expert on that element. The groups will consist of 4 members.

Filed under Pagadian City The Philippines, being a country archipelago of islands and seas, have naturally wonderful beaches, some of which are famous the world over. Beaches like Puerto Galera, Boracay, and the various beaches in Cebu rake in tourists from around the world all year round because of their pristine and cool blue waters and fine, white-sand shores. However, if one will just look around more, they will find that there are other less-known but equally beautiful beach spots in other parts of the Philippines.
In Pagadian, in particular, there are beaches and islands that will make one believe that there is such a thing as a secluded paradise on Earth.
I use an App called d creature to effectively engage middle to lower achieving boys. Due to confidence issues I find some students are reluctant to engage in practical tasks such as drawing. By allowing use of the app it is a virtual kiln where students can add pattern and colour etc , students are dealing with an interface they are familiar with virtuality. The quick and effective results they achieve on the app used as a starter. Gives the students the confidence to move from the virtual to the physical process of making and problem solving.
I use a minimum work list which boys in particular really like and promotes independence. Click this link to download: The aim is to encourage pupils to become more confident, read the recipes, help each other and problem solve. I use this with yrs Pupils are given 2 laminated hands at the start of the lesson.
It’s much easier to engage students when you’re introducing new material. Every year I try to deliver revision lessons that really add value, but it can be difficult to find inspiring resources. I’d be interested to see your recommendations too. I’ve delivered this lesson a few times and it’s always gone really well.

We as teachers know that it is not enough to just tell students to revise and expect them to just know how to do it, so with this in mind I was asked to put together a unit of work for year 11 students on effective revision. This including how to create a revision timetable, the importance of taking breaks and looking after yourself as well as techniques to help them with the actual process of revising. The original idea had four stages: Review the topic 30 min Transformation Activity 10 min Practice testing 10 min Exam Questions 10 min I really liked this idea but wanted to make it slightly more structured for some of my students and my subject areas whilst still allowing for a more personalised approach.
In my adaption there are 6 steps: From experience students will gravitate towards the topics that they feel most comfortable with because they already know it and the revision makes them feel good. Instead students should be focusing on the areas that they are prehapes struggling with. It has become practice in my school for students to be given a personalised learning checklist PLC at the start of each unit. These allow the students to track their progress and identify areas that they need to focus on and prioritise.
There are a number of ways that students can determine their area of focus but the two that I like most are: RAG Lists — This is where students are given a list of the course content and have to determine how they feel about that particular areas. I tend to use the following criteria:

Despite its relevance, the paleoseismic record of this region is scarce, hampering our understanding about the relationship between the Andes building and earthquake occurrence. In this study, we used the U-series disequilibrium method to obtain absolute ages of paleoearthquake events associated with normal displacements along the active Mejillones and Salar del Carmen faults in the Coastal Range of the Atacama Desert of northern Chile.
The Th— U disequilibrium ages in co-seismic gypsum salts sampled along the fault traces together with marine evidences indicate that earthquakes occurred at ca. When coupled with paleoseismic marine and radiocarbon 14C records in the nearby Mejillones Bay evidencing large dislocations along the Mejillones Fault, the geochronological dataset presented here is consistent with the notion that gypsum salts formed during large earthquakes as a result of co-seismic dilatancy pumping of saline waters along the major faults.

Interactions of an object with another object can be explained and predicted using the concept of forces, which can cause a change in motion of one or both of the interacting objects. An individual force acts on one particular object and is described by its strength and direction. The strengths of forces can be measured and their values compared. What happens when a force is applied to an object depends not only on that force but also on all the other forces acting on that object. A static object typically has multiple forces acting on it, but they sum to zero.
If the total vector sum force on an object is not zero, however, its motion will change. Sometimes forces on an object can also change its shape or orientation. But at speeds close to the speed of light, the second law is not applicable without modification. Nor does it apply to objects at the molecular, atomic, and subatomic scales, or to an object whose mass is changing at the same time as its speed.
An understanding of the forces between objects is important for describing how their motions change, as well as for predicting stability or instability in systems at any scale.
